Mr. Jacobs oversees all non-investment activities for Spectrum. He has over 29 years of diversified experience as a manager, an operating executive and a transactional attorney. Prior to joining Spectrum in 2008, Mr. Jacobs was a corporate partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, a New York based, AmLaw 100 law firm. At Kramer Levin, Mr. Jacobs focused on advising and representing private equity and hedge fund managers in a variety of matters. Prior to joining Kramer Levin, Mr. Jacobs held a number of senior operating positions, including Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Legal Officer and Divisional President at portfolio companies sponsored by private equity funds Quadrangle Group and Wasserstein & Co. Mr. Jacobs' responsibilities covered areas as diverse as finance, legal, compliance, corporate governance, risk-management, real estate, facilities, IT and investor relations. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Jacobs was Assistant General Counsel at AIG, where he was responsible for all legal aspects of domestic mergers and acquisitions. From 1987 to 1995, Mr. Jacobs was an attorney in private practice at the firms of Winthrop Stimson (now Pillsbury Winthrop) and Hunton & Williams.
Mr. Jacobs received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
